Attorney Winfred A. Eckenreiter, a longtime Fairhaven resident, has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association since 1981 and has previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bristol County. During his tenure, Attorney Eckenreiter attained a 90% conviction rate on all drunk driving jury trials that he prosecuted.
Attorney Eckenreiter served as a combat marine during the Vietnam War from 1969–1970. For his actions, he received the Navy Commendation Medal and the S.V. Cross of Gallantry with Palm for Bravery and Valor. His service, as well as his experience in the D.A.'s office, has prepared him for the battles that the firm currently faces on a daily basis. These include litigation, settlement negotiations, and the pursuit of all matters that the firm undertakes.
He is a member of the town of Fairhaven's Board of Selectmen, winning a second term in April of 2001, as well as a member of several boards and committees in town. He is a past member of Fairhaven's Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and Board of Appeals. His commitment to the town of Fairhaven is an example of the determination that Attorney Eckenreiter possesses in the practice of law.
